About

As an accredited member in good standing with the oldest non-profit association of personal property appraisers, AAA (Appraisers Association of America), Ms. Nivens-Frosini's experience in the art world spans over 20 years, in the United States and abroad. While co-owner with her late husband, Gino Frosini, of the prestigious frame gallery, Dow and Frosini of Berkeley, California, she acquired her knowledge of frames and restoration. Ms. Nivens-Frosini holds degrees in History from the University of San Francisco and History of Art and Museum Studies from the University of Florence in Italy. While working on her thesis she discovered, in a noted English collection, a "lost" work by the 19th century Florentine sculptor, Aristodomeo Costoli.

During her two-decades in Italy, she collaborated with the Italian gallery SanZanobi in Florence, working on translations of art books, articles and establishing enduring relationships with art experts. Her extensive travels throughout Europe, the British Isles, the Middle East, Mexico and Asia have been invaluable in researching art and following art trends.

While Director of European Art and Registrar at Montgomery Gallery in San Francisco, Lindsay assisted in numerous appraisals, has participated in the Gallery's Lecture Series, and has organized and took part in the Los Angeles Art Show, the San Francisco Fall Antique Show and the distinguished European Fine Art Fair (TEFAF) in Maastricht, The Netherlands.

LNF Fine Art Appraisal Resource specializes in 19th century European and American paintings, drawings, sculpture and period frames, and has experience in appraising 20th century photography, notably works by Dorothea Lange.
